1. Laundry Room – I think this deserves its own blog post, so stay
tuned! Laundry rooms have evolved from the grungy, empty basements we were used
to in the past. There are some things you can do to greatly enhance your
laundry room and lighten your workload. For a start, you can have a spare
refrigerator placed in the laundry room. This can come in handy when you are
looking to hide away an extra stash of beverages. You can even have your
personal dog washing station right in the laundry room that will have friends
with a pooch very envious. You can also raise your washer and dryer by making
use of a platform. This way, you do not have to bend down and strain your back
when taking clothes out of the washer and dryer, while making a great use of
space for storage. It is also helpful to have built-in laundry hampers to keep
the laundry room tidy without much effort.

2. Mudroom Makeover – Your mudroom may be a part of your laundry
room, so I’ll keep this short, until next time. The mudroom is usually our
first step into the place we call home, the place where we kick off our shoes
to ease into the relaxed, at-home version of ourselves. It's a catch-all for
going out things like dirty boots and bags, so it needs to be highly
functional. But that doesn't mean it can't be a beautiful space that works
hard, but also welcomes us home.
3. Over the Door Shelf – Consider a good use of space by
installing a shelf over the door for extra bathroom storage. This is also a
great idea for a garage or a bedroom to keep things out of the reach of
children.

4. Wrapping Paper Storage – In honor of Christmas coming to an
end, use a wire shelf to neatly store rolls of wrapping paper. You can also use
a scrap piece of wood or a bungee cord.

5. A Perfect Pantry – An organized pantry is so satisfying. Having bins and jars that fit the space
is a huge factor to creating an organized pantry. Clear or open bins are
perfect so you can see what is inside. Labels are a big contributor to keeping
it organized once the job is done. If you don’t label the jars and bins, you
have no idea what is in them and even if you can remember, more than likely
your family will not. Kids and significant others will know where everything
goes and you can rest assured knowing that packing lunches, prepping meals and putting
groceries away will be much easier and time saving!

6. DIY Attic Storage – By using the attic as a storage room you
can greatly reduce your clutter! The attic storage space depends on a home’s
style. Creating custom shelves with scrap wood or other materials, the attic is
turned into a reliable storage space without losing floor space! Finish off the
space by organizing your decorations and other clutter in color coded bins
with labels.

7. Command Center – The start of a new year is the perfect time to
put together a command center. Start by designating a spot in your house where
paperwork will go every time it enters your house. Once you designate a space,
you want to consider what key elements will work best for your family. Some
ideas include: monthly calendar, kids’ boards, mail, budget, receipts, coupons,
homework bin, work/school schedules, storage for office supplies, etc.

8. Home Office – Because we spend most of our time at work, our
home offices are sometimes forgotten. However, you can have a functional home
office that looks beautiful and well organized. If you have a small space, the
key is to make the best of it. If you don’t have a big desk or a lot of storage
space, make use of your wall space by adding shelves and a whiteboard. Start
your journey to an organized office by sorting through all your documents. I
love this binder organization idea!

9. Pretty Playroom – Dedicating a space in your home to toys
poses a challenge. All the plastic pieces may be together to one place, but
keeping it organized can be a struggle, especially if the space is small. Organizing
rooms with storage shelving can be worth the investment for the right
room. Shelving units can be so
multi-functional from displaying books, showcasing decor, and storing toys and
other items.
